It distracts us

I've already written more today than I have in a month, so in the spirit of actually being on LJ, I've decided to post 26 songs that I enjoy immensely, ranging in alphabetical order (artist).

A

Anberlin-Cadence

B

Bayside-A Rite of Passage

C

Coheed and Cambria-A Favor House Atlantic

Your eyees tell the stories of the day you wish you couuuld~
Awesome fucking song.

D

Danzig-Thirteen

E

Evans Blue-The Tease

In my opinion, one of the greatest fucking recent bands. Second only to Rishloo. Which sucks, because once I get to R, Radiohead is going there by default. Or both. ....Yeah. Both.

F

Fleet Foxes-Blue Ridge Mountains

Yes, I dig this hippie shit.

G

Garbage-#1 Crush

Still an awesome song, to this day

H

Hawthorne Heights-Ohio is for Lovers

Don't even ask me why I like this crap.

I
Two for the price of one-
IAMX-Spit It Out

This song is just hngh.

Incubus-Oil and Water

Beautiful, heartbreaking shit.

J
Juno Reactor-Pistolera

Fuck yes.

K
Kings of Leon-Use Somebody

*hums*

L
Ludo-The Horror of our Love

Just. Yes.

M
Manchester Orchestra-Where Have You Been

This very easily goes into my "Holy fuck, this song is better than your life" category.

N
New Order-Ceremony

&hearts

P
Parabelle-A Drop in the Ocean

So when Evan's Blue stupidly replaced their lead singer, he went off and formed Parabelle, which is now better than the newly formed Evan's Blue. By far.

Q
Queen-Don't Stop Me Now

Shut the fuck up. This song is pimp. Guhraviteee~~~

R
All the Rs. Or some of them.
Radiohead-Everything, ever. But for now: Weird Fishes

In Rainbows was one of the greatest albums of my generation. This is not up for debate.

Ra Ra Riot-Can You Tell

This is definitely one of my zen bands.

Rishloo-Everything, ever. But for now: Eidolon Alpha

Everything about their sound is flat-out gorgeous. From their music to the vocals to the lyrics. They create this ambiance that hasn't been achieved by anyone, even if they may have come close.

Rise Against-Voices off Camera

S

Saybia-Untitled Bonus Track

T
The Temper Trap-Soldier On

I've had this song stuck in my head for like six days.

U
The Used-The Taste of Ink

I was going through a phase. I never quite got over it.

V
Vampire Weekend-A Punk

Another phase. I think I got over this one.

And thanks to [livejournal.com profile] drjmaxwell, Sir, VNV Nation. (I totally forgot they existed)

W
White Lies-Almost everything, ever. But for now: Is Love

There are few newer bands that successfully capture elements of older music and keep it current enough that they're not just a retro band. They do this beautifully. I can't wait to see them. T_T

X
DMX :| Ruff Ryders Anthem

I'm sorry. This song was my shit, once upon a time.

Y
You Say Party, We Say Die!-Stockholm Syndrome

*bounces*

Z
Led Zeppelin (:3)-Communication Breakdown

Bro, Zeppelin. That is all.
